On November 22, Ambassador Du Xiaohui met with Hon. Felix Mutati, Minister of Technology and Science of Zambia, to exchange views on China-Zambia technology and science cooperation. 

Ambassador Du introduced in detail the main framework of the report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and particularly focused on the report’s contents on invigorating China through science and education as well as strong workforce.

Ambassador Du said that the report proposed a "two-step" strategy for realizing the Chinese path to modernization, and placed the work of science, education and workforce development in an important position as a separate section for the first time, which provided a guide for practical cooperation between China and Zambia in the field of science and technology. Workforce development is the most valuable investment and is crucial to Zambia's independent development. China is willing to continue to discuss with Zambia cooperation in the fields of science and technology and capacity building, so as to promote the high-quality development of China-Zambia practical cooperation.

Hon. Mutati appreciated Ambassador Du for his introduction and said that Zambia has long adhered to its long-term independence to carry out cooperation with China, from which Zambia has substantially benefited. Zambia wishes to seize the cooperation opportunities from the report in the field of science, technology and workforce development, and continue to discuss with the Chinese side to carry out practical cooperation in the fields of digital transformation and skills training.
