On November 25, the 25th anniversary reception of Bank of China Zambia (BoC) was held in Lusaka, Zambia. Situmbeko Musokotwane, Minister of Finance and National Planning, Du Xiaohui, Chinese Ambassador, Francis Chipimo, Deputy Governor of Bank of Zambia, and major financial institutions in Zambia attended the event. 

Wang Qi, Managing Director of BoC, said that BoC Zambia is the first branch operated by Bank of China in Africa. In the past 25 years, BoC have provided a total of more than US$3 billion in financial support for Zambia's economic development, and contributed 750 million Kwacha in tax payments, which has strongly promoted Zambia's economic and social development and trade and investment exchanges between China and Zambia. 

Ambassador Du said that the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China has provided the world with certainty, stability and extensive opportunities. China-Zambia practical cooperation should seize this opportunity to achieve greater development. The fact that BoC has taken root, grown and thrived in Zambia, showed that the Chinese government and Chinese financial institutions have been bullish on Zambia's good business environment and broad development opportunities. China-Zambia financial cooperation would continue to open up new fields, explore new opportunities and offer new solutions.

Musokotwane congratulated BoC on its development achievements in the past 25 years, saying that BoC chose Zambia as the first country to open a branch in Africa, reflecting the friendly and close relationship between the two countries, and the Zambian government will continue to consolidate and develop the relations between the two countries. Zambia would learn from China's development experience and launch more preferential incentives to attract foreign investment. 

Chipimo appreciated China's economic achievements in the short period of time, and the outstanding contribution made by BoC to Zambia's financial development.
