On 27 October, Ambassador Du Xiaohui attended the 2023 Zambia Job Exposition hosted by the Confucius Institute at the University of Zambia. Prof. Esther Munalula, Acting President of the University of Zambia, and directors of the Confucius Institute were present. More than 80 Chinese and Zambian businesses provided more than 700 jobs, and more than 1,000 applicants participated in the Exposition.

In his speech, ambassador Du said that President Xi Jinping announced 8 major steps China will take to support the joint pursuit of high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, which represent new opportunities for future cooperation between China and Zambia. President Hakainde Hichilema's state visit to China was a complete success. Both sides have been devoted to translating the outcomes of the state visit into specific projects in Zambia as soon as possible, to create more jobs for Zambian young people. This year's Job Exposition has set a record in terms of participating companies and universities, number of jobs provided and job-seeking graduates, which reflects the firm confidence in Belt and Road cooperation and implementation of  the important consensus reached by the two heads of state. It is hoped that Chinese businesses will actively fulfill social responsibilities and create more jobs in Zambia, and that Zambian students will learn more about China and embrace China. To embrace China is to embrace opportunity, peace and development.

Afterwards, Ambassador Du and his Zambian partners visited the recruitment booths of businesses to learn more about their operation and recruitment. 7 Zambian universities, including the University of Zambia and Mulungushi University, organized fresh graduates to apply for jobs at the event.
