On 12 December 2023, Ambassador Du Xiaohui met with the new President Mr. Kingsley Kalusha and former President Friday Mulenga of Zambia China Old Students Association (ZACOSA).

Ambassador Du thanked Mr. Mulenga and his colleagues for their contribution to China-Zambia friendship, congratulated Mr. Kalusha on his election as the new President of ZACOSA. Ambassador Du said that President Hichilema paid a successful State Visit to China at the invitation of President Xi Jinping this September. The two Heads of State decided to upgrade the bilateral relationship to Comprehensive Strategic and Cooperative Partnership and designated 2024 as the Year of Business Cooperation as well as the Year of Culture and Tourism on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. It is hoped that ZACOSA seizes the opportunity, continues to contribute to China-Zambia friendship and promote cultural exchanges and practical cooperation between the two countries.

Mr. Kalusha and his colleagues thanked the Embassy for its long-term support to ZACOSA and Zambia-China educational cooperation, and expressed readiness that ZACOSA will actively leverage its platform advantages, provide quality services and promote exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
