On January 25, Ambassador Du Xiaohui and Ms. Hope Situmbeko, Permanent Secretary (Administration) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Zambia, jointly attended the Handover Ceremony of Office Equipment Donated by the Chinese Embassy to the Ministry.

Ambassador Du briefed the audience on the recent Central Conference on Work Relating to Foreign Affairs, especially the vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind. He said that building a community with a shared future for mankind is the noble goal pursued by China in conducting major-country diplomacy with Chinese characteristics for the new era. China calls for an equal and orderly multipolar world and a universally beneficial and inclusive economic globalization, which meets the common needs of the developing countries and properly addresses the development imbalances between and within countries resulting from the global allocation of resources. It is hoped that these equipment can eventually turn into efforts from the two sides to jointly implement the consensus reached by the two Heads of State during President Hichilema’s State Visit to China last year, deepen the comprehensive strategic and cooperative partnership and benefit the two countries and peoples.

Ms. Situmbeko said that Zambia highly appreciates China’s donation which will effectively improve the efficiency of Zambia in fulfilling its responsibilities in implementing the consensus reached by the two Heads of State. China’s donation and its recent assistance to Zambia in the fight against cholera fully reflects the deep-rooted traditional culture of the all-weather friendship and mutual assistance over the past 60 years between Zambia and China. Zambia is willing to work with China to consolidate and promote the development of the bilateral relations.

Xinhua News Agency, CCTV, ZANIS, ZNBC, Times of Zambia and other mainstream media from both countries covered the ceremony.
