On February 1, Ambassador Du Xiaohui met with Hon. Collins Nzovu, Minister of Green Economy and Environment of Zambia.
Ambassador Du suggested that China and Zambia should work together to effectively implement the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation on Green and Low-Carbon Development to strengthen exchanges and coordination, and build a platform for cooperation. The China-Zambia High-Quality Development Forum will include parallel forums with the focus on green clean energy and green mining to promote green cooperation. The Forum on China-Africa Cooperation is also a significant opportunity for green cooperation between China and Zambia, which we should make good use of.
Minister Nzovu expressed great pleasure to discuss with the Chinese side on the concepts, policies and practices of green development and extended thanks to the Chinese side for sharing experience in green and low-carbon development and combating climate change. He looked forward to more exchanges and cooperation between Zambia and China in green industries, green technologies, forestry, and the circular economy.
