On October 8, Ambassador Han Jing met with Zambian Defence Minister Ambrose Lufuma, attended by Senior Colonel Jiang Lei, Defence Attaché of the Chinese Embassy in Zambia, and Norman Chipakupaku, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence of Zambia.
Ambassador Han said that the “all-weather friendship” between China and Zambia has lasted for a long time. Under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Hichilema, the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership between the two countries has developed in depth, and the exchanges between the two militaries have achieved fruitful results. China attaches great importance to friendly cooperation with the Zambian military and is willing to work with the Zambian side to implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state, strengthen high-level exchanges between the two militaries, strengthen cooperation in personnel training, military medicine, equipment technology and other fields, and promote the relationship between the two militaries to a new level.
Defence Minister Lufuma thanked China for its long-term valuable support and assistance to Zambia’s national defence construction, highly praised the contribution made by Defence Attaché Jiang Lei to promote bilateral military cooperation during his tenure, and expressed that the Zambian side is willing to continue to strengthen friendly exchanges with the Chinese military and promote the cooperation between the two sides to achieve new results.
