On 13 November 2024, the Chinese Embassy in Zambia donated 110 sets of mattresses and 110 bicycles to the “Stay in School” Project Centre initiated by the First Lady of Zambia H.E. Mutinta Hichilema. Ambassador Han Jing and the First Lady attended the donation ceremony.

Ambassador Han said that during President Hakainde Hichilema’s previous two visits to China, the two first families have developed a profound friendship. China appreciates Mrs. Mutinta Hichilema’s long-term commitment to humanitarian and public welfare causes and is ready to work with Zambia to improve the well-being of Zambian women and children.

Mrs. Mutinta Hichilema thanked Ambassador Han for the donation and asked him to convey her greetings to Professor Peng Liyuan, First Lady of China. She thanked the Chinese Government for the donation of Covid-19 vaccines to Zambian people, initiated by Prof. Peng, and said that Zambia will always remember the support that China has provided. Zambia looks forward to enhancing cooperation with China on strengthening women and children care, as well as medical and health cooperation in the future to benefit our two peoples.
