On 27th June, Ambassador Du Xiaohui met with Dr. Fredrick Mutesa, Secretary-General of the Zambia-China Friendship Association (ZCFA) and his delegation. Minister Counselor Mr. Wang Sheng was present.

Ambassador Du said that people-to-people friendship has always been the main comparative advantage of China-Zambia relations. Despite its own difficulties, China made the firm decision to build the TAZARA and recently actively helped Zambia solve its debt problem upon request, which proves the all-weather nature of the China-Zambia friendship. It also shows that China is providing new opportunities for the world on the Chinese path to modernization. The all-weather friendship has an unbreakable foundation of public support, and will not be interfered by any third party. It is hoped that the ZCFA will continue to contribute to the deepening of mutual communication and understanding between the two peoples.

Dr. Mutesa introduced his recent attendance at the Forum on Global Human Rights Governance in Beijing and said that the Communist Party of China has always adhered to the people-centered development idea, continuously carried out self-revolution, and achieved great historical achievements. The ZCFA is willing to further play an active role in promoting the bilateral people-to-people friendship between Zambia and China.
