From July 1 to 2, Ambassador Du Xiaohui visited the Southern Province. He paid a courtesy call on Senior Chief Mukuni and attended the Bene Mukuni Traditional Ceremony as the Guest of Honor.

Speaking at the Ceremony, Ambassador Du said that tradition lends great wisdom for us to address today’s challenges. During the process of solving debt issue, China has been working closely with Zambia and pushed for major progress in the debt restructuring. China and Zambia are good friends who respect each other, good partners who pursue mutual benefits and good brothers who enjoy common development. The Chinese side will encourage more Chinese investors to invest in Zambia and promote more Chinese tourists to visit Zambia. It is hoped that the Zambian Government can protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese citizens in Zambia, and leverage Zambia’s comparative strengths in promoting China-Zambia pragmatic cooperation.
