On August 3rd, the Patriotic Front, Socialist Party and Zambia-China Friendship Association issued statements which show strong opposition to Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan

Dr. Fredrick Mutesa, the Secretary General of the ZCFA,said that this unnecessary provocation by the US violates the principle of peaceful coexistence. It should be condemned by all peace-loving peoples for heightening tension at a time when the nations of the world should be intensifying efforts to cooperate in tackling issues of global concern such as pandemics, climate change and finding lasting solutions to violent conflicts. The US, like any other government, must respect international agreements to which it has appended its signature.We stand with the People's Republic of China on the one-China policy.
