On August 19, the Chinese Embassy in Zambia donated 20,000 medical masks to the Maina Soko Hospital to support the latter’s medical work during the pandemic time. The Embassy's Defense Attaché Senior Colonel Jiang Lei and representatives of the military medical team in Zambia attended the donation ceremony.
Brigadier General Bernard Kapatamoyo, Commandant of the Maina Soko Hospital, thanked the Chinese government and military for their long-term support and assistance to Zambia, spoke highly of the professionalism and dedication of the Chinese military medical team, and expressed that Zambia is willing to further strengthen cooperation with China in the field of military medical healthcare. Senior Col. Jiang Lei said that the traditional friendship between the two countries and the two militaries is deeply rooted in the hearts of the two peoples. He hoped that the military medical team would take the advantage of their medical expertise to deepen exchange with their Zambian colleagues so as to make new contributions to the promotion of Zambian military healthcare.
Since the outbreak of the pandemic, the Chinese government has donated 1.1 million doses of vaccines in three times and aided a great deal of medical supplies to Zambia.
