Mr. Yang Xingpin, Vice Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province visited Zambia from 18 to 20 May 2025. On 19 May, the delegation paid a courtesy call on Hon. Sheal Mulyata, Minister of Lusaka Province of Zambia.

Mr. Yang said that as China-Zambia relations flourished in recent years, Sichuan Province and Lusaka Province has benefited from their friendly and mutually beneficial cooperation at the local level as well. Sichuan Province is ready to strengthen ties with Lusaka Province through enhanced cooperation in the fields of health care, capacity building and technology innovation to bring real benefits to the two peoples.

Hon. Minister Mulyata expressed her gratitude for the cordial hospitality of Sichuan Province during her visit last November and conveyed her warm welcome to the delegation. She expressed Lusaka’s willingness to learn from Sichuan’s development experience and keep deepening cooperation between the two provinces.

During the visit, the delegation also met with Dr. George Sinyangwe, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health in Zambia. The China (Sichuan) - Zambia Pharmaceutical and Health Industry Cooperation and Exchange Conference as well as an exhibition on Traditional Chinese Medicine was held in Lusaka, and the delegation donated 5000 HIV rapid test kits to Lusaka Province.
