The Zambia Finals of the 2025 Chinese Bridge Competition Successfully Held

The Zambia Finals of the 24th Chinese Bridge Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign University Students and the 18th Chinese Bridge Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Secondary School Students were held on 30 May 2025, at the Confucius Institute of the University of Zambia (UNZA). Mr. Wang Sheng, Minister Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Zambia, and Professor Felix Masiye, Acting Vice-Chancellor of UNZA, attended the event and delivered speeches. More than 150 people, including teachers and students from across Zambia and representatives from local Chinese community, were present.

Mr. Wang said that China and Zambia are all-weather friends and Comprehensive Strategic and Cooperative Partners. The Chinese Bridge Competition serves as a bridge that promotes mutual understanding and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries. It is hoped that the Chinese language learners would embrace the opportunities presented by China’s development and China-Zambia cooperation to live a life of their dreams.

Professor Masiye thanked China for its strong support for Zambia-China educational cooperation and cultural exchanges, and emphasized that Chinese language education is thriving in Zambia, and UNZA will continue to carry forward the all-weather friendship between the two countries.

After fierce competition, Ms. Daka Rabecca from UNZA, among 10 university students, and Ms. Museba mubanga from Kasama Girls’ Secondary School, among 9 secondary school students, won first prizes in their respective category.
