Ambassador Li Jie Meets with Hon. Charles Milupi, Minister of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development

On 1st December, H.E. Mr. Li Jie, Chinese Ambassador to Zambia, met with Hon. Charles Milupi, Minister of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development. Ambassador Li congratulated Hon. Charles Milupi for his appointment. They had an exchange of views on cooperation in the field of infrastructure construction between the two sides.

Ambassador Li said that China and Zambia have cooperated closely in the field of infrastructure construction, and good progress has been made in key projects such as the International Conference Center, Kenneth Kaunda International Airport, and Ndola International Airport. At present, China-Zambia relations have entered into a new era. China has experience and technology advantages in the field of infrastructure construction and looks forward to strengthening cooperation with Zambia in this field.

Ambassador Li said that China is an important source of investment for Zambia. Zambia attracted the most Chinese investment in Africa last year. China appreciates the positive measures taken by the Zambian government to improve the investment environment, and is willing to work with Zambia to explore new approaches of cooperation in infrastructure construction, continue to encourage Chinese companies to invest in Zambia, and lay a solid foundation for Zambia's sustainable economic and social development.

Minister Milupi said that Zambia cherishes the traditional friendship between Zambia and China and appreciates China's important support and assistance in Zambia's economic and social development. The Zambian government puts the promotion of economic development in the first place, and looks forward to deepening practical cooperation and innovating cooperation methods with China in the field of infrastructure construction.

Ambassador Li also exchanged views with Minister Phiri on other issues.
