On May 10, Ambassador Du XIaohui met with Dr. Fredrick Mutesa, Secretary General of the Zambia-China Friendship Association (ZCFA). Minister Counsellor Lai Bo was present.

Ambassador Du said that China and Zambia are good friends, good partners and good brothers. In recent years, with the remarkable results of the practical cooperation achieved and the all-weather friendship consolidated, China-Zambia relations have continued to develop, which has become a model for China-Africa relations and South-South cooperation. He looks forward to working together with the ZCFA to continue the friendship, promote cooperation, and benefit the two countries and the two peoples.

Dr. Mutesa welcomed Ambassador Du and thanked the Embassy for supporting the ZCFA. He said that China provided assistance to Zambia in various fields though facing its own economic difficulties at the time. The ZCFA will continuously urge Zambians from all walks of life, especially the youth, to understand and cherish the Zambia-China friendship, so as to make greater contributions to the development of the relations between the two countries.
