On 22 December 2023, the Zambia China Old Students Association (ZACOSA) held a business forum at the Mulungushi International Conference Center. Ambassador Du Xiaohui and Minister of Education of Zambia Siakalima delivered speeches. Members of ZACOSA and business representatives attended.

Ambassador Du thanked ZACOSA for its contribution to China-Zambia friendship and said that China-Zambia relations were upgraded to the Comprehensive Strategic and Cooperative Partnership in 2023. Mutual respect, equality and common development have always been important principles of the bilateral relations. 2024 marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of our diplomatic ties, and is also the Year of Business Cooperation as well as the Year of Culture and Tourism. It is hoped that ZACOSA will continue to promote cultural exchanges and practical cooperation, and that businesses from both countries will seize the opportunity of the upgraded bilateral relationship to strengthen cooperation and achieve win-win results.

Minister Siakalima thanked China for its long-term support for Zambia’s education and economic and social development, and stressed that Zambia and China, as all-weather friends, should continue to deepen cooperation in various fields. Zambian students who have studied in China have made positive contribution to the development of Zambia. It is hoped that the Zambian people can learn from the hardworking and enterprising spirit of the Chinese people and work hard for the national development of Zambia.
