On 14th June, H.E. Mr. Du Xiaohui, Chinese Ambassador to Zambia, met with Mrs. Mutinta Hichilema, First Lady of Zambia.

Ambassador Du said that President Xi Jinping and President Hichilema had a successful telephone conversation two weeks ago, which is an important milestone for the development of bilateral relations. With the personal care, guidance and promotion of the two Heads of State, the all-dimensional friendship that China and Zambia are enjoying will acquire steady, sustained and increased growth, and practical cooperation will be elevated to an even higher level. The Chinese Embassy is willing to work with Mrs. Mutinta Hichilema in various areas involving health, women, children and education.

Mrs. Mutinta Hichilema asked Ambassador Du to convey her greetings to Professor Peng Liyuan, First Lady of China. She thanked the Chinese Government for the recent donation of Covid-19 vaccines to Zambia’s women and young people, initiated by Professor Peng, which helps Zambia accelerate its vaccination campaign. She said that Zambia and China enjoy a rich history of friendship, and that Zambia will always remember the support that China has provided in health, infrastructure and other areas. The Zambian side looks forward to enhancing cooperation with China on improving well-beings of women, children and youth.
