Ambassador Du Xiaohui Meets with Hon. Charles Milupi, Minister of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development

On July 26, Ambassador Du Xiaohui met with Hon. Charles Milupi, Minister of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development of Zambia. The two sides exchanged views on China-Zambia cooperation in infrastructure construction and other fields.

Ambassador Du said that the traditional friendship between China and Zambia has a long history, and the essence of the long-term friendship between our two countries is mutual respect, equality, and mutual benefit. After the successful phone conversation between the two heads of state, the relevant authorities of China and Zambia are actively implementing the consensus reached by two heads of state. The Chinese side is willing to continue to cooperate with the Zambian side in the field of infrastructure construction, and encourage more Chinese enterprises to use Chinese experience and Chinese technology to promote the economic and social development of Zambia and improve the living standards of the Zambian people.

Hon. Minister Charles Milupi said that China and Chinese enterprises have made important contributions to the development of Zambia's infrastructure, including the construction of the Tanzania-Zambia Railway, the Lower Kafue Gorge Hydropower Project, the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport, the Copperbelt International Airport, and the International Conference Center, especially the Kenneth Kaunda Wing of the International Conference Center, which has provided acclaimed facility for the successful holding of the AU Mid-Year Coordination Meeting, for which the Zambian side expresses its sincere thanks. The Zambian side hopes that Chinese enterprises will continue to participate in the development of infrastructure in Zambia, and further explore cooperation models such as PPP to promote mutual benefit and win-win cooperation between Zambia and China.

The two sides also exchanged views on other matters related to  promot China-Zambia friendly pragmatic cooperation.
