On August 23, Ambassador Du Xiaohui met with Elijah Muchima, Minister of Land and Natural Resources of Zambia, to exchange views on bilateral relations and practical cooperation.

Ambassador Du said that the successful phone call between President Xi Jinping and President Hakainde Hichilema is a milestone for the China-Zambia relations. Being an all-weather friend as well as a developing country, China has always firmly supported Zambia in choosing its own development path in line with national conditions. The TAZARA and the Kenneth Kaunda Wing of Mulungushi International Conference Center are the best examples of this spirit. Investment opportunities in Zambia appeal to Chinese enterprises, as the 94th Zambia Agricultural Business Exhibition, which closed not long ago, attracted 110 Chinese enterprises to participate. With the spirit of mutual respect, equality, mutual benefit and win-win results, China is willing to strengthen cooperation with Zambia in the fields of mining industry chains, agricultural, industrialization and capacity building.

Hon. Muchima said that the two heads of state are directing the development of Zambia-China relations. Zambia cherishes the traditional friendship forged by our founding fathers, President Kaunda and Chairman Mao Zedong, and appreciates the long-term selfless assistance from China for Zambia's economic and social development. As land resources are vital to Zambia's development, GRZ and the Ministry are committed to achieving sustainable land management and mutual benefit cooperation with foreign investors. Zambia longs to learn advanced experience in land management and other fields from China's development, and promote skills through capacity building.
