On September 24, 2026, Ambassador Han Jing paid a courtesy call on Dr. Gilbert Siame, Minister of Green Economy and Environment of Zambia.

Ambassador Han congratulated Dr. Siame on his appointment as Minister of Green Economy and Environment. Under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Hakainde Hichilema, the China-Zambia Comprehensive Strategic and Cooperative Partnership has continued to grow. The bilateral cooperation has yielded remarkable outcomes in such areas as clean energy and green minerals. The Chinese side looks forward to working together with the Zambian side to implement the consensus reached between the two heads of state and advance cooperation in the field of the green economy.

Dr. Siame thanked the Chinese Government for its long-standing valuable support and assistance to Zambia in addressing climate change and developing the green economy. The Zambian Government cherishes the traditional China-Zambia friendship and welcomes Chinese enterprises to expand investment in forestry, new energy and other sectors so as to strengthen the resilience of Zambia’s economic development and better deliver on President Hichilema’s Grow Zambia Agenda.
