On October 22, 2026, Ambassador Han Jing hosted a press briefing on the latest progress in China-Zambia practical cooperation. Journalists from 11 Zambian media houses were present.

Ambassador Han said that, supported by China’s comprehensive zero-tariff measures, Zambia’s exports to China reached USD 1.665 billion in May and June this year, up nearly 40% year-on-year. Not long ago, the first shipments of Zambian heat-processed cocoons and soybeans to China were dispatched, while the two sides are stepping up efforts to finalize protocols for the export of avocados and citrus to China. In addition, construction of the ZAMVAX vaccine plant, a China–Zambia joint venture, will begin in the near future. Upon its completion, the plant is expected to produce 20 million doses of cholera vaccine annually, helping Zambia and Southern African countries improve the ability to respond to public health emergencies. China is firmly committed to implementing the Global Development Initiative and advancing South–South cooperation with Zambia in pursuit of shared prosperity.

Ambassador Han also answered questions from journalists on investment cooperation and capacity building opportunities in the agriculture, mining and healthcare sector, and how the Global Development Initiative (GDI) can better serve Zambia.
