Chinese Embassy in Zambia Held 6th Joint Consular Meeting with Multiple Zambian Authorities

The Chinese Embassy in Zambia held the 6th Joint Consular Meeting with multiple Zambian authorities on December 17, 2025. The meeting focused on exchanging in-depth views on issues of both concern. Ms, Wang Li, Counsellor of the Embassy chaired the meeting, which was attended by over 30 officials, including Mr. Zechariah Luhanga, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Labour and Social Security, Mr. Dingani Banda, Commissioner General of Zambia Revenue Authority, and representatives from Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ministry of Home Affairs and Internal Security, Zambia Police Service, Immigration Department, and Drug Enforcement Commission.

Ms. Wang said that in recent years, under the strategic guidance of two heads of state, China-Zambia relations have developed comprehensively. The Embassy is ready to work together with relevant Zambian authorities to better protect the legitimate rights and safety of Chinese nationals, promote law enforcement cooperation to jointly combat transnational crime and publicity of laws and regulations.

The Zambian side thanked China for its long-term assistance to Zambia's economic development and expressed its willingness to work closely with the Embassy to conduct legal familiarization and security training to serve the high-quality development of bilateral cooperation.

Following the meeting, both sides finalized a list of implementation and agreed to hold regular meetings in the future.

    The Mechanism was established in 2019 by the Chinese Embassy and relevant Zambian authorities. It has held six meetings to date, serving as an important platform for strengthening coordination and addressing mutual concerns.
