On 11th March 2026, Deputy Chief of Mission and Minister Counselor Wang Sheng was invited to give a lecture on China-Zambia relations at Cavendish University Zambia. Dr. Fredrick Mutesa, Secretary-General of Zambia-China Friendship Association (ZCFA), Dr. Kasongo Chiputa, lecturer from the university, and 30 young scholars from the university were present.

Centered around the theme China-Zambia Friendship and Global System, Mr. Wang elaborated on China-Zambia relations, China-Africa relations and how China views the world. He said that China and Zambia have achieved fruitful results in bilateral cooperation, such as trade and investment, mining, energy, infrastructure, cultural exchanges, among other fields, which is a case in point of the vigorous development of China-Africa cooperation. In an era of profound transformation and deep uncertainty, the world is suffering ongoing geopolitical turbulences and the consequences of rising protectionism and unilateralism. China opposes the use of force in international relations, advocates promoting peace through negotiations, and firmly upholds the international system with the United Nations at its core. China has put forward the concept of a community with a shared future for humanity, the Belt and Road initiative and four global initiatives, with a view to pursuing an equal and orderly multipolar world and universally beneficial and inclusive economic globalization, and pushing forward the global governance reform with Chinese wisdom and solution.

Mr. Wang also answered questions from participating scholars on mining cooperation, visa facilitation, investment, debt and other issues.
