On 27 March, during his visit to Western Province, Ambassador Han Jing, on behalf of the Chinese Embassy in Zambia and the Association of Chinese Corporation in Zambia, presented 1,000 bags of breakfast meal to the Western Provincial Administration and the flood-affected communities. The ceremony was attended by Hon. Kapelwa Mbangweta, Provincial Minister of Western Province, Mr. Akapelwa, Permanent Secretary of Western Province, and representatives from the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit (DMMU).

Ambassador Han stated that upon learning of the floods in Western Province, the Chinese Embassy in Zambia and the Association of Chinese Corporation in Zambia acted immediately to prepare  a batch of emergency food aid. This exemplifies the genuine friendship and unwavering mutual support that have long defined the China-Zambia relationship. In recent years, President Hakainde Hichilema has visited China twice and held meetings with President Xi Jinping, and Premier Li Qiang has undertaken an official visit to Zambia. China-Zambia cooperation has yielded fruitful results, bringing continued benefits to the peoples of both countries and taking the China-Zambia Comprehensive Strategic and Cooperative Partnership to new heights.

Hon. Mbangweta stated that China has long supported Zambia's development, particularly through the construction of high-quality infrastructure projects in Western Province, including roads, bridges and water supply systems. The timely provision of emergency food aid from China to the affected communities fully reflects the profound friendship between the two peoples. He expressed deep appreciation for this gesture and looks forward to further deepening cooperation with China across all sectors.

Before the handover ceremony, Ambassador Han met with Hon. Mbangweta and other senior officials of Western Province to exchange views on deepening bilateral relations and strengthening cooperation at the local level, and multiple consensuses were reached.
