On June 23, Counsellor Wang Li led youth representatives from the Chinese Embassy in Zambia and China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) to attend the Students Railway Experience event at New Kapiri Mposhi Station in Central Province, one of the series of activities marking the TAZARA Golden Jubilee. District Commissioner for Kapiri Mposhi Mr. Francis Hasalama, TAZARA Regional General Manager Mr. Kambani Ndhlovu and approximately 400 students from four local secondary schools were present.

Counsellor Wang Li noted that though nearly half a century has passed since TAZARA entered service, the trust and mutual support embodied by the railway have never faded. She recalled the challenging construction history and noted that the railway stands as a monument of friendship co-built by China, Zambia and Tanzania. She said that as TAZARA Revitalization is advanced, annual freight capacity will increase to over 2.4 million tonnes, and a TAZARA Prosperity Belt will be created to generate tens of thousands of jobs. She encouraged young people from both countries to carry forward the TAZARA spirit and join hands for a brighter future.

Mr. Hasalama noted that the completion of the TAZARA Railway is a remarkable milestone for Zambia, playing a key role in connecting Zambia with regional and international markets. He encouraged the students to seize the opportunities, study hard and prepare to contribute to national progress, and expressed his appreciation for China's contribution to Zambia's development.

After the speeches, Counsellor Wang Li, together with the guests and students, boarded the train for a ride and exchanged views along the way.
